Grades are here!!

I just checked my grades, and I got 2 4.0s! My math grade was my lowest one at a 3.8, but the other two were 4.0!!!

Now that Solstice is over (I had my cousin over for a movie, a couple of games, and food), I can focus on other things, like finishing my mom's kitchen (for future reference, I HATE SPIDERS!!!) I found four of them, killed three. One of them screamed a fierce battle cry before running toward me, making me scream like a little girl. I killed one with a bottle of chili oil, and two met their ends because of a small hand-broom. I do not fool around with spiders, and when they start rushing at me, I make sure they're dead.

Christmas will be easier this year than it has been in other years, since Himself and I aren't running around like chickens wth our heads cut off. We will be going over his parent's house tomorrow to do the tree and breakfast and everything, and then we stay at my parent's house for Christmas day.

Too tired for much humor today. No more cleaning for me, no more baking, cooking, or anything else for that matter. Too tired for anything but veging in front of a movie or some sort of video game.

One down

One final down, two to go. Well, actually one and a half to go, since I've already written the paper for my myths class. The paper turned out pretty good, although I don't think its my best work. Too much info, page limit, and not enough time will do that.

I got a 4.0 for my photo class, so I'm really pleased about that. He really seemed to like the pictures I chose for my portfolio (I'm one of those sad people who took pictures of my cats for a couple of my projects, including the final because I couldn't think of anything else), but I wasn't sure if he would like one of them since its so dark in one spot. There were some really cool pictures there, and I can't wait until the next photo class I take next quarter, because some of the people I liked from the 101 class are going to be in the 102 class with me. The instructor told us to hang out nearby so that he could give us our final grade, so a bunch of the students and I went out into the hallway and played poker and spoons until he told us that he was ready for us. I didn't do so well at either game, but we all had fun groping for a pen when we played spoons.

I think the only final I'm really worried about is my math final. I have the best notes I could possibly have (I already sold my math book back. Paid $125 and some change to get the book, only got $18 back. Lets see, if I subtract the original cost of the book by the amount I got back, I think I can figure out the percentage...), so all I have to worry about is if they're the right notes. That's my main problem with testing. I write all the notes I possibly can, and on the day of the test, I find out that they're the wrong notes, or I skimmed the one section that most of the test is based on. I am not a good tester. Himself tests well, he just has issues (that goes without saying) about having to prove he knows the material.

Well, I have to go face my fate at the testing center. Watch me go into battle without flinching (oh god don't make me go in there! Please, anything but that! I'll do anything! I'll bathe my dad's cat! Well, maybe not. That's too scary. Its even scarier than taking a math test)

Almost there

Well, finals are tomorrow for me. Part of me is glad, but the rest of me is kinda sad that it's all coming to an end. One of the reasons I enjoy college so much is the fact that there are so many different people all in one place (well, campus is pretty big, and if everyone was in one place, it would get really crowded really fast). My photography final will be for the full two hours (each class has two hours for their finals, but some of them don't use the whole time), and it will be the last time I see some of those people. My myths final will be even easier, since all I have to do is go in and drop off my paper and say goodbye to some of the students there. Then I have my math final, but I can take that anytime tomorrow, and it's not going to be in the classroom, so I can't really talk to anyone from that class (not that I really want to. There were some pretty dumb people there, like the girl who doesn't think she'll need math for a major in psychology).

I print out the last of my pictures today and possibly tomorrow if the lab's open long enough. I'm hoping that I get a really good grade from this class, since it's something I enjoy doing, and I'm pretty good at it if I do say so myself (which I just did).

Christmas gifts will be easier this year than last year, since I'm pretty much making all of them. There are a couple I have to buy (Himself's uncle is really into the Beatles, and I have no pictures of them, since that would be really gross to have pictures of dead people. Although not all of them are dead, but still it would be really hard to get pictures of them, living or not), but for the most part, I'm making them all. Most Minor Minion is probably getting the oddest gift I have ever done, though. He is really into Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and he has watched all of the special features if I recall correctly. I plan on getting him a coconut so that when he "gallops" like Arthur does in the movie, he can have the sound to go with it. I was going to get him a Patsy too, but they're really hard to find for the price I can offer, and I'm sure there's a law somewhere that says that you can't have someone following you banging coconuts to sound like horse's hooves.

Well, I think that's all for now. I have to get ready to pick up Middle Minion from his school for an appointment, go back up to my apartment, and come back to the school to print my pictures. Maybe I'll just do all that tomorrow, and I'll go home and finish my paper for myths class. I should probably find out what time the lab closes tonight and tomorrow.

Da da dum!

Well, finals have begun. I have all three of my finals due on one day, but that's okay because not only do I thrive on stress, but two of my finals will actually be done before the day they're due.

my cousin just had her baby, a healthy baby girl who is the first great-grandchild in my family. Congrats guys, she is the cutest little baby ever!

With Solstice coming up, I have realized how unprepared I am. A friend of mine is celebrating Solstice this year, and I was kind of hoping to be able to join them (along with Himself if he doesn't have to work), but alas, no invite. I would feel awkward just asking if I could join them, but if I don't get the invite, then I'll just light my candles and build a nice fire (in the fireplace unfortunatly. The apartment complex Himself and I live in would protest a bonfire on a balcony or in the middle of the livingroom), and figure out something to do. Maybe I'll invite Big Green Friend over and he can also celebrate Solstice with us. His family are all very Christian, and he is and he isnt (it's all very confusing sometimes), but he hates Christmas, and instead he celebrates Yule or the Solstice.

Well, I have to go and do more research on my topic for my myths paper. Joy. Not much humor today, I'm too tired and hungry to think of something funny. Maybe later, after I've played with the Racku kiln and flashed my mask (that actually sounds more fun than what is actually going to happen).

That time of year again...

I guess its more that time of fall again. Finals time for this quarter. I'm pretty sure I have all my finals on one day (aren't I a lucky one), but I'm not sure anymore. Lady of the Math asked us when we wanted to take the final (and where, which makes me wonder about her sometimes). If we take it on the day we're scheduled, we have to come into class and take it, but we get more than one sheet of notes. If we take it on the day she had on the calendar for this quarter, then we only get one sheet of notes, but we have all day to take it (well, unless we have two more finals that day, then we have about half the day to take it). Personally I'm all for taking the final in the classroom if it means more notes.

This is the time of year I start my holiday baking (aka, making a mess in Mom's kitchen, but making really good cookies in the process.), and this year I decided to start teaching my younger brothers (my minions) how to do everything. I'm a little worried about Middle Minion's math though. He informed me that .5 equals 1/5, and he was having the hardest time adding simple fractions. This is coming from a 10th grader (although it's better than having a high school graduate inform me that she doesn't have to be teached, and who insisted that she vacumed after closing for the night. Please, not in public) He did correct himself after awhile, but it was still quite amusing to hear him bumbling over the fractions (what is 1/2 plus 1/2 plus 1/2? Oh! Oh! I know! 3!).

Well another short post. Have to get everything ready for tomorrow. One of my instructors decided that since I was gone (and learning. My trip was educational), I could come up with some sort of presentation for the class covering the various myths and legends of Krakow. It's actually going to be pretty cool. I'm going to get some posterboard and tape some pictures of Krakow on it along with a legend that goes with the picture. Now all I have to do is print out the legends and I'm good to go.

Who am I?

So, after looking back, I realized that I have never formally introduced myself, or explained what the title of my blog means. My mom always called me Princess PITA (pain in the ass) whenever I was being difficult (which is most of the time. Now my husband has picked up the nickname. Lucky me), so I just changed it a little. I am very proud of my Irish decent (not sure how much Irish blood is running through me...Actually that's kinda gross. Never mind), so the title of my blog means Irish Princess. I probably got the grammar wrong, which wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. I also can't pronounce it to save my life, I can guess, but usually parts of the words get stuck in my mouth and beg to be released.

I helped the cousin move his mattress last night on the promise that he would clean my apartment and buy me coffee (he knows my greatest weakness. The coffee, not the apartment). He offered, so I excepted. We drove (actually, I drove) to what he thought was an abandoned building where he had to leave the mattress after fighting with it first with a hand truck, and then with a shopping cart (the mattress won both times, but he made a good effort). He walked from the building to my apartment with the offer of a clean apartment and coffee if I would help him the rest of the way. I agreed, turned off my game of Age of Empires (okay, so I'm a geek at heart. That game is fun) and we drove to the building. While he was dragging the mattress (it still seemed to have quite a lot of fight left in it, because it sounded like he was trying to beat it into submission), a van pulled into the parking area we were in, and an older man proceeded to question as to why I was there. I'm not sure how much he understood, since he was probably Chinese or Japanese, and he just nodded, parked his van and started walking around the building. I assume he works there or something, because he disappeared, but the van stayed. Cousin started tying the mattresses into the bed of my truck (we had to figure out some way to get my tailgate to stay closed since the mattress is a little longer than the bed of my truck. Ultimately we failed), and after about ten or so minutes of watching him tie everything, I got out of my truck and informed him that we're just going a few blocks, not a few miles, and that it should be fine to just loop the rope over the tailgate to try to hold it closed. All in all, it was quite an adventure. And by adventure, I mean a royal pain.

Had the weirdest dreams the last couple of nights. I'm not sure why, but last night I drempt that I was driving a vehicle that was a lot bigger on the inside than it was on the outside, and I was following this other van on the highway. Something on the back door of the van broke off, and they were spewing gas all over the place. I remember shouting "Not on my car!", and all of a sudden, the stream of gas arched more and hit the hood of my car. More on the other dream later. I must go and glaze my mask for my myths class before it's too late.
